Joey – Our Pilgrim Bear
In 2025, Pope Francis invited the entire Church to embrace the Year of Pilgrimage, a time to deepen our faith through spiritual journeys. A pilgrimage isn’t just about visiting sacred places; it’s about opening our hearts to God, walking together in hope and renewing our commitment to love and serve others. This special year helps us reflect on our personal journey with Christ and live out the message of hope He brings to the world. The Holy Father chose the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope’ in light of the world suffering from the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of COVID-19 pandemic and a climate crisis.
To make this journey even more exciting, our school has its very own pilgrim – Joey the Bear! Joey will be travelling with us on school trips, visiting the church for Mass and even joining staff on international adventures. His travels will help create a sense of awe and wonder, showing our pupils the beauty of God’s creation while reflecting on how we are all pilgrims on a journey of faith.
